Two UK Boys’ Tragic Death Sparks Mental Health Charity Initiative

The tragic deaths of two boys, Alex and Max, aged 12 and 11 respectively, have inspired their father, Herman De Jager, to launch a charity initiative to raise awareness for mental health. The boys, who had a passion for creating YouTube videos and playing Minecraft, were well-loved by their peers and had dreams of becoming YouTubers. Herman hopes to keep their memory alive by setting up a charity or foundation in their name.

Boys Remembered as Model Pupils with Bright Futures

Alex and Max were model pupils at their school, always well-behaved, and much loved by their peers. They were described as having bright futures ahead of them, with dreams of becoming YouTubers. The boys were passionate about playing Minecraft and were avid gamers. Alex was particularly talented in building extraordinary things in Minecraft and was known as a redstone master builder.

GoFundMe Page Launched for Memorial and Mental Health Charity

Following their untimely deaths, Herman has launched a GoFundMe page with an initial aim to assist with funeral costs, but with a larger goal to keep their memory alive while helping others. Herman hopes to set up a form of memorial to remember the boys, but also wants to set up a charity or foundation in their name in due time to raise awareness for mental health.

The GoFundMe page has already raised almost 2,500 in donations at the time of writing. Anyone can contribute to the page for Alex and Max.

Legacy of Two Boys Lives On

Herman’s long-term ambition and aim is to keep the memory of his two sons alive by creating a legacy that will benefit others. Although he is taking one day at a time, his vision for the future is to establish a charity or foundation to raise awareness for mental health. He wants his sons’ names to carry on a legacy and be remembered for the extraordinary boys they were.
